Moving on

I had a lot of sleep yesterday, that's why I am still up at this late hour: 0023hrs to be exact. I decided I would stop being a hearing Christian and put the things I hear into action so yesterday I decided to rest. Anti, apart from the spiritual rest of resting in Christ's finished work, the body was also designed to re-energise at least for one day out of a week. So now I have no sleep, but that's okay, I won't be needing to be at work early.

Moving on, the year is coming to a close. I am no longer a school going fellow who looks forward to November and December coz those are holiday months. Rather, I am concerned about where I will be earning my bread and when I will be taking a break from the earning of bread.

This year started out badly; at the time I was with my former employer and was waiting for a deal to come in so I would get paid. Unfortunately, upto now, the deal has never come in. Then I was led on by a man promising employment. I called the man's number numerous times reminding him until he decided to start training me. That was when he asked for my number and told me he would call. Not heard from him since.

I have been at two interviews so far, all with financial firms, notwithstanding the fact that I hate numbers. On both occasions, I went with hope believing for some miracle. And then I saw the aptitude tests. Given I have not done maths since 2000, I almost cried when I saw things like quadratic equations and standard deviation. Nonetheless, that did not hinder my hope, I knew something good would come out. I have done two so far without success but at least now I know what to expect with these kinds of interviews.

I banked my c.v but so far, no call.

Gladly for me, my God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory so my good father has been allowing me to piggy back on his goodness. Thanks to him, I am now a regular contributor to this wonderful blog world coz his office has a pc for me, provided with an internet connection. Well, I also get to do some property management and administrative work (read I am my dad's secretary).

It is November 24th. I have to attend some three weddings from this point till the close of the year. That would be easy but I am also invited for wedding meetings. Me, who has no big money to look forward to at the end of the month. I think I give a wrong impression about my wealth!! Anyway, they're all my friends and so I do sacrifice some, sometime. This Saturday was at a kasiki and man was the meat (read roast chicken, pork, spiced beef) nice, if only it wasn't so late.. The kasiki was for a friend leaving the buwuulu club this Saturday. He is going to be married! After that I have a break of one week, then the weddings resume. Meanwhile, I am still single.

Move on. That phrase has rung so much in the past week, I think I shall be wise and heed it's meaning. I have already tried relating after her but never successfully even entering one. My friend/brother said I should stop being selfish, coz I look for her in every new girl I fancy. I have been working my friends, unfortunately; yes, I have been living under law in this area. So I am letting go, of relating business till I have a beginner's mind, like the S.King mentioned. Without bias or presumption and I have no one else to trust through this time but Jesus.

Today is 24th November 2008. And then some man annoyed me...

Jesus’ Blood Is On The Mercy Seat


Leviticus 16:14
14He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

If you have watched the movie, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, you would remember that when the lid of the ark was lifted, strange-looking creatures floated out and destroyed the people around it. Interesting as it may be, this is biblically inaccurate — the ark of the Bible did not contain strange-looking creatures. What were the things inside it then?

There were three items in the ark: the golden pot of manna, Aaron’s rod and two stone tablets on which God had written the Ten Commandments. (Hebrews 9:4) These items are actually symbols of man’s rebellion. The golden pot of manna represents man’s rejection of God’s provision. The rod of Aaron represents man’s rejection of God’s leadership and the two stone tablets of God’s commandments represent man’s rejection of His standard of holiness.

But because God delights in mercy, He had these items put away in the ark and covered with the mercy seat, which had two cherubim on it. (Hebrews 9:5) And once a year, the high priest would enter the holy of holies where the ark was and sprinkle the blood of the animal sacrifice on the mercy seat. This means that God’s eyes, represented by the eyes of the cherubim, did not see the symbols of man’s rebellion. As long as the blood was there on the mercy seat, He saw only the blood and accepted the people.

Today, Jesus is our High Priest and He Himself has sprinkled His own blood on the true mercy seat in heaven — the throne of grace. (Hebrews 9:23–26) Interestingly, the number of times that the Old Testament high priest had to sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat — seven — speaks of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice. And because His sacrifice is perfect and He is perfect, we who are in Christ have perfect standing forever before God!

My friend, as you come to God today, don’t worry about falling short of His standard of holiness. He does not see your sins. (Hebrews 8:12, 10:17) He sees His Son’s blood on the mercy seat. You have perfect standing before Him forever!

Of lost love

I remember telling you guys how last Saturday was one of the best ever in my life; it could have been but alas, it has brought more chemical reactions within than I had ever anticipated. Yes, it’s about a girl.

I am a victim of the “all comes rushing down” feeling; that feeling when you see an ex after a long time and her beautiful face just makes you wish things were as they were three years ago. Well, I cannot say we were relating to a point where I can say we are now “ex”s, rather it is from they complexity of having a guy and girl being best friends.

We did everything together and one of the most memorable moments was when I was about to lose her; I never dreamt that I would one day walk across the Owen Falls Dam with a beautiful girl like her, talking about random things while the sun shone and the wind blew, noticing the webs on the bridge. Never anticipated having to calm a beautiful girl down when she was crying because my phone was stolen. It was such an unforgettable experience for me. I was myself with her, she was herself with me. Till I quit Church.

Quitting Church made a way for him- the taller darker guy who would eventually win her heart. He was the man of her dreams and finally he had the space to engage her while I was away. When she let me know, I was broken and we became hostile for a short while but then we made up and resumed friendship although since campus had ended I would no longer be in constant communication with her any more.

Last Saturday I called her. She would eventually ask me to get her some delicacy she had taken a while without having, so after the soup kitchen I headed to where she was. The moment I saw her…

We did not spend more than five minutes together but it was one of the best moments of the year; I was entranced by her glow, her smile, her energy. It did not hit me then, it began slowly; the rush. At the time, I could not consider it a lot because I was with a friend, an O.G and well, we were talking. However, as the week came to a close, the intensity of the rush increased.

I dreamt of her last night and she was looking gorgeous, but then, she isn’t mine. To make it worse, friends of mine by God’s grace successfully entered a relationship after a time of ups and downs. I was so happy for them because I know they are happy. It just made me think that I could possibly have felt the same way they do with her. (Listening to Plus One’s Let me be the one right now just makes me want to weep).

I have tried to fall in love ever since but she never goes away. She remains in my heart. Ever since her I can truthfully say I have never truly been in love. What can I do? I had convinced myself I was over her but now my heart beats as if without her it can never love a woman again truly. What can I do? I thought distance would help. It was working till I saw her… Blogren, help ???

As you do, I say a prayer for all Ugandan bloggers this week.

At the start of the week, may God be your guide, may He be your guard. May He be your balm, may He be your peace. May He be your strength, may He be your breath! I pray in Jesus' name.

Kakka in the Bible!!!

Ab'oluganda n'emikwano (I mean friends and lovers)...this is true.

I laughed when a certain pastor preached about this. First of all, the Elizabethan English was something else, and the actual thing he was saying...brought me to much laughter. Yet it was very meaningful.

It was a great message actually, coz he was relating to Jesus. And how he became (what cometh from thee-sin) and was covered in the ground for three days to rise up triumphantly having put away our (what cometh from thee) forever.

So talk about Kakka, Jesus became our kakka so we might become the righteousness of God in Christ.

Greatest Saturday ever

I am convinced that 8th November 2008 was one of the best days to ever grace the life of yours truly, Nevender. There's no better morning than one that is peaceful and I had such a morning. My heart was at rest and so expectant to see the day through.

Of course there were certain things that made me want to live to the fullest on that day, and it was so calming the fact that my heart did not fight it this time. My plan was go to office, check my mail, then head to MUK and then to Akamwesi then back to MUK but then see...my phone display was showing 99% Zone on a Saturday morning at 10am and I could think of so many people I could call.

I did call her, the sweet friend that never goes away; I called her, the friend that thinks I am angry at her; I called her, the one who has a way with me and I called her, the sister.

I think I made calls of a total of one hour or so and was so delighted. The one who has a way with me wanted kikomando once I told her about the Soup Kitchen (SK) and so that was added onto my itinerary for the day. That means I had to get kikomando in Wandegs and courier it to MUK Sports ground where the one who has a way with me would be.

By the time the calls ended, and having found no new mail it was around ten past 11am and that meant I was late. I should have been at MUK by now so that by midday I would be in Akamwesi. Deciding where to go first was not easy but in the end since I was dropping dime at campus for later use, I better drop it first so that budgets could be facilitated.

People, it is love when you must climb up to floor N of Mary Stuart Hall to deliver dime. That place wears me out but chin up...it is a small thing to do for love.

From there I jetted to Akamwesi and just before I got in, met an old writer friend of mine with a group of young people who were unfamiliar to me. I suspected she was going for the Soup Kitchen (SK) and asked her what she was doing at Akamwesi. She confirmed that indeed she was going for the SK. I never made it inside Akamwesi...

Friends, this is a blessed thing. To have young people gather themselves to improve the welfare of less privileged people. And this is exactly what the SK is. Young adults who have a passion for life. My experience is posted here.

From there, I had to run the errand I told you about concerning Kikomando. I bought three of those things and continued to the sports grounds of MUK. Wabula I was tired. Naye I had to go on and do something selfless for this old flame. However on my way, I met an O.G right outside MACOS (Makerere College School) my old school.

There are friendships that are genuine and then there are those that are of convenience. I am blessed to have many genuine ones. You see, this girl and I were classmates for two years and the friendship was so simplistic. Conversation flowed like a river.

So on this Saturday, I found her waiting for her little brother who would be sitting his UACE today. I thought I would say hi and bye but then we talked and it seemed like we would not stop soon. So I asked her to push me to the field to deliver the package and she obliged.

She asked to remain on the ground as I ascended the stage of the Ignite Festival to inquire where to find the one who has a way with me was. I met some old friends but made quick to know where the lady was. Soon as saw her, I descended from the stage.

Awkward moment: where you want to hug an old flame but everyone is looking at you suspiciously (because she has a boyfriend) so you do not do it.

I was so happy to see her because she was a big part of my life while at campus and had not seen her often after that.

Happiness was killing me.

I could only manage to see her long enough to deliver the goods because I had to attend to the O.G. Also, she being in the worship team, had to go back to give God what was His. We talked for a short time, she was beaming with joy. I made to introduce her to my O.G and the moment she saw her, assumed she was my girlfriend...

If you saw these two, it would seem like I was the stranger and they were the long lost friends. Naye I was still happy.

I had to sadly say goodbye and leave with my O.G. For emphasis, WE TALKED, and the TALKED,and then SOME. We just had to be brave and leave each other. It's like there was so much to talk about.

So, I left her after promising to go see her next Saturday. From there I had to go back to BOX. The BASIC Family would be going for a lock-in, my first ever lock-in and BOX was kind of the base of preparations. The fair story of what transpired is here. It was so awesome....

My Saturday was filled with beauty. Faces of children's innocence. Long lost friends appearing. Old flames showing me love... family, etc and then Arsenal beating Man U.

I could go on and on about it, but Job 38:11.

God is good.

What if we all "Change We Can"???

I am eating a lot these days. Sorry, I do not mean pork. In my quest to be of use to God and man I have been forced to take in more than ample amounts of info-meals and at times it can boil my head.

This world's future in my unprophetic thinking is headed to more or less confusion. The schools of thought are growing at alarming levels, with everyone putting forward a motion that works. Political thinkers seemed to have died out, what with the popularity of democracy. The last attempt to create a new system was Mzee, dear President with his movement system.

Economically, things are still pretty much the same with communism taking a back seat to capitalism.

So, you must wonder what schools of thought I mean. Well, I mean religious thinkers.
I am not overstating, just go here and see.

So I was wondering with all this in the world today. What shall the effects be tomorrow? I am pondering on the effects of Obama's "Change We Can (CWC)". Do you know if everybody decided to CWC there would be turmoil? Who would have the last laugh? Muslims? Buddhists? Secularists? Evangelicals? Who? Perhaps the question may become : who will press the nuclear red button first, and start a new world over again?

Imagine how many people differ in attitudes and what would happen if we all wanted our way followed by force. We would have things like the Dark Ages, Mohammad's Conquest, exploding buses etc.

I was really thinking that God has an interesting way of keeping things at bay. Because, imagine what would happen if everyone had the same kind of determination and will. Might this not happen a hundred times over?



My head is boiling.

I cannot wield my will over another but by patience and meekness and love, pray I can be heard and understood. A perfect society is a dream in each one's eyes. It is a reality in God's.

Remember his song Changes? Well I pulled out a stanza to reminisce the day when the thought of a black president was futile.

Bambi, things have changed.

I realise I live in an era where another golden piece of History has been written. I didn't see the black dreamer, and the white president who ended slavery in US but I have witnessed in my time, a black man become the President of the U S of A. I acknowledge leadership comes from God and so it is my turn to be responsible and pray for the leaders we have.

Onto other things, I got good news this morning. Gay marriage was defeated in California. That means there are some 180,000 same sex couples in the grey about their future. Read story here .

This is how people change mindsets- A constant bombardment of a message into people's faces. First the idea may seem absurd, silly, detestable; then slowly it becomes tolerable then acceptable. This is what many movements are using to spread their propaganda. Rock music did it, communism did it, now gays want to do it. I am glad California is revoking an earlier decision. Now only two states remain gay.

Why is it good news? Because God's righteousness is being upheld. We should stop treading on the middle lines, sitting on the fence. What is compromise? Is it not downplaying God's righteous law? Saying neither yea or nay?

Friends a word of wisdom. (Mat 5:37 MKJV) But let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes from evil.

Obama wins. plus other things.

I woke up intent on having a good day, and by God's grace I shall still have it. Anyway, my first journey to work ended halfway because I realised I had forgotten office keys, so I had to journey back home and retrieve the keys. Once home I found the t.v on and realised Obama and McCain were neck to neck, I paused for a minute but then remembered I was not coming from work but still going there. I left.

Once I reached and opened my mail, first thing I saw was " Obama becomes first black president in landslide win". Congratulations to all those who were behind this history making moment. Sorry I cannot join the celebrations for reasons well known. I hope Ugandans do not join the foray and drink themselves silly because of this. If you do remember we still have Amama issues and Temangalo.

That aside.

I happen to be inspired by a number of things; things that make me smile, things that make me want to make a change. I will share two of these.

This morning on my way to work, I happened to see two children, both girls. One was about 5, the other probably 9 or 10. These two were quite opposite in terms of height, one tall the other short. But what inspired me was they were laughing together. The younger shorter one with her "malibu" (gaps) happily gazing at the older tall one. I looked and smiled because I saw the earnest, the simplicity, the joy, the peace, the innocence in two young children.

A sight like this is so rare among people other than children, so I thank God for children and their calming effect.

The second thing happened yesterday. On my way to a rendezvous, at the roundabout near Mutaasa Kafeero building, I saw and heard a man donning a white shirt with blue graphic speaking through a loud speaker. His t-shirt had the words "Kampala City of God". Here was a man, who has dedicated his day to speaking truth and grace into people. He and many others are involved in constant prayer for the city, for this beloved country. I was touched, and challenged. These people love their country, their city. I mean love. So they give up their own pursuit and pray. This moved me.

And moving on still (this is a long one...)

Why do I mention this? I don't know, just random I guess.

Lastly, coz I must get to work, I hope this inspires someone to love today genuinely.

Love does not respect distance, or time, or machinations. Love shall shine brighter than a midday sun yet remain as calming as a midnight moon.

More on pronounce it right.

Once upon a time, there was a boy called Ntwatwa. Ntwatwa was of course a boy, and he was a boy growing up. So he admired older people, people he saw on t.v, people he saw at home; his brothers!

So one day his brother came home with a new name. His name had a spark to it and Ntwatwa liked it. So he thought he would be like his brother. So he made for himself a name! His name changed to Ntwax. Evening passed and morning came, and Ntwax saw that it was good.

So Ntwax went to school and went back and home. He found his brother had brought home a laptop. Oh! He would learn to love computers. So he went back to school and guess what! There were computers! A computer lab! And he would want to be there all the time.
Soon everyone knew he liked computers, and one day his friend called him Networx. Evening passed and morning came. And Networx saw that it was good.

And then Networx fell in love. And then he was consumed by the emotion called love and so he began to love flowers. And because he loved purple, he loved a flower called lavender and then he saw it....a name. His name changed that day.

Networx fused with lavender and Nevender emerged!

And that my friends is why it is Nevender. Not neverender.

Hard Times

It is hard to see God when we are going through tough situations yet that is when we need to. It's not easy to praise God when things are rough and the waves batter while the wind banters. In the night it is hardest to believe that a "morning" will come. It is very easy to pray and praise and laugh and thank God when things are smooth sailing but when in hopeless, in despair, in loneliness, we feel that God is so inaccessible.

Inadequacy makes me weak and fearful and my ghosts become giants, my fears become fierce. In my addiction, I feel I am powerless, helpless and hopeless, and a fix will be my only solution. God is most necessary in these times yet that is when we walk far from Him.
This sermon has been preached before but it never makes sense until it happens to one. We think we are strong when under a warm sun then suddenly we become weak when the rain comes.

I do not like the rain at all, in fact I would rather God help me get through life with no problems but I find myself the cause of my rain and if not for God, I would forever be hopeless.



I have found out trusting God is hardest in tough times but when one manages it, glorious new days ahead. I am depending on God to bring me through my dark times because unfortunately He alone is my hope. There is no one else to run to. Ultimately I find myself crying out His name and "Whoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved."

I am trusting that He is faithful when He says He will perfect that which concerns me for my only hope is He, God my Abba Father.

Pronounce it right.

I feel like KJ 52 right now. People assume since the 5 and 2 are next to each other, it should be read fifty two! On the contrary, It is pronounced KJ five- two.

This has happened to me as well on many occasions of first encounters, sometimes virtual, other times physical. Someone reads my nick name and assumes I meant never ender... banange, have mercy on my self baptised nick name!! C'est ne pas never ender.

Follow with me.

1. What in heaven would never ender mean?
Never ender... A thing or person that ends the possibility of impossibility?
Or something that never ends perhaps?

2. Why would someone call themselves never ender? Perhaps he is never ending? Kinda like God...kinda like blasphemous? Huh?
3. It sounds so un cool, kinda like Lil Wayne, or Rihanna, or Prince, or Marilyn Manson..(yes I do not like those people..and note, I said like.

Stand corrected all ye who have made the error of calling yours truly never ender. That is not what it is. It is Take note. Okay?!!


Onto other matters.

I am still feeling wretched...yet I am much better off than those who perished in the quake of Pakistan, much better than the relatives of those in fated accidents in Ug of recent, much better than the women from Karamoja whose occupation is handy. Yet these comaprisons offer me no consolation, no real anchor, nothing to set me to tears.

Inadequacy flows like an enzyme in my system. Triggered by periods of happiness and purpose, it rises and pollutes every area of determination within.

Horton hears a Who!

Now me and animations are like this; tight. I love animations, especially the ones from Pixar. I am a fan of the Madagascar penguins, Tom and his friend Jerry, Dexter and his sister, etc etc, the list is endless.

The thing with animations is that they are free from the evils of that old liar- PG13!
Imagine you're watching a PG13 and then there: Someone decided it was a great time to "feel their boobies". Oops!

Not that animations are totally holy. No. I love the story telling that is in animations. The themes covered are social issues. Remember the Incredibles? About this man's mid-life crisis?

Anyway, yesterday I finally watched Horton Hears a Who and to be honest with you, I think I will resume writing for children. There are some things so childlike but so truthful that sometimes we miss them. Horton the main character hears a voice screaming out from a tiny speck and for some reason, he becomes devoted to the speck discovering it is a world of its own with real people called Whos and its survival very much depends on Horton.



There is the evil Sour Kangaroo who learning of this and afraid that what he is saying will poison the children's minds plots to destroy the speck... I would not love to spoil the story if you haven't watched it but please watch it.

I picked out one thing from the story : A person's a person, no matter how small.

One may say, oh well, that is obvious; but did you know that the number of persons daily lost in this senseless thing called abortion are 115,000; amounting to 42 million Whos per year? Stats here

Dr Seuss may have been writing a children's story and some may think that is a silly place to start an anti abortion campaign on the contrary. children are affected by what they hear when growing up, and those things are what shape them into the men and women we see today.

I love animations, I love children's stories. They speak the truth to a heart that will listen.

the blogs this Friday are quite long and in depth. I love this. Naye I am so busy I may not read them now, but I will read them.

Anyone heard of this : the sin that so easily besets. Oh! How that sin besets me. I was reading Ugandan Insomniac, at least the first bits of it and this struck me: Every man has a secret. That’s what Batman says.

Although men like to act inspirational at times, there are some things rather left in the dark. I have those things. Things that tug at me once in a while, things I would rather not talk about. That is the sin that so easily besets me.

What does a man do in such a situation but hang on to God with their last strength? Isn't He Jehovah MACCADDESHEM, my sanctification; Jehovah ROHI, my shepherd; Jehovah TSIDKENU, my righteousness ! Isn't He my comforter, my deliverer, my door,my Father?!

Oh that I would know more of His grace; to see less of myself, to know more of Him. Oh that this would become truer of me, day by day ... Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Heb 12:1 )

I thank God for His son because of this promise My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
And He is the propitiation concerning our sins, and not concerning ours only, but also concerning the sins of all the world. (1Jn 2:1-2)

Free for all!!

I will heal their backslidings; I will love them freely; for My anger has turned away from him. (Hosea 14:4)

That was one of the first things I read today and has it blessed my day! The idea of a maker who will "love us freely" is amazing. There are no conditions, no red tape, no procurement orders, no meetings, no committees, no paper work. He does not demand something for Him to love us freely. He just loves. But God commends His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Amazing grace, my friends, is free for all! Not only for the wise, or the rich, the educated, the handsome, the beautiful, the mighty, the strong! No, it is for fools, for the poor, for the illiterate, for the ugly, for the weak, it does not discriminate.

It is free for all. He will love us freely. Oh, who would resist such love and omit such goodness?

Seeing not so many understood the post, I will make it short and simple.

This girl, known her for more than a year now. I always liked her, and I guess I showed it. So on Friday we exchanged series of texts that pretty much brought to the surface my care for her. This girl scares me; when I send her poetry, she simply says, "oh that is nice"; without much ado.

In the communication, I ended up doing most of the saying how i feel while her on the other hand, received and made no appropriate feedback. Anyway, her text got me thinking. Was she saying she was being in love with me, or she really was just being a nice Christian girl. "Jesus is in love with me who in turn is in love with you."

I made up my mind that day, I knew she felt the same. So I would go to her the next day and confirm that what she felt I too felt. I bought a rose on my way to her place. (She is a campuser).

When I reached she wasn't at her place so had to in the meanwhile talk with her room-mate as well as keep the room-mate from knowing I had a rose. When she finally came, I was of course happy to see her and deep in my heart I knew she felt the same. So in the interest of time, because this was around 7:30pm, I asked her to give me a push and then told her we would take a walk around campus.

So we first talked about stuff, godly stuff, then when I sensed the time was right, I told her how I felt. To my surprise, she feigned dismay!! Why do I say that? Coz the texts I had sent her before that were clear enough and the way I talked with her should have been obvious for a girl.

My brother cum best friend cum cousin tells me she was playing on my head. And I was too silly to notice. That she is just being a woman, setting up situations and leading me to the hunt.

She said she would pray about it. All the while, my red rose remained unrevealed upto this day where it darkens on my window. It is not drying up, just becoming redder, and smelling fouler.

I am in suspense.

So, friends. What say ye noble men and women

I wonder, is there any blogger who hasn't heard of Jesus? And since basically our nation is Christian, where is that coming out in the posts of bloggers?

I've seen the secular drown out the righteous; making claims to freedom and shunning the righteous. Jesus is a lesson in Social Studies, oh, you can call on him when you are in serious zibs, and make sure you do that when everything else has failed!

Reminds me of a hammer. I am beset by presidential candidates who instead of offering solutions, start blaming others.

Noise

I wrote this awhile ago.

In an environment so loud, how can one keep alert?

I am trying to write an intellectual piece but unfortunately there is that blaring sound coming from a nearby disco hall. The beats are loud enough as it is, but the MC or is it the DJ, seems to be an excited radio commentator-he is literally cheering on the songs. I try to focus, and then the sound of a cricket becomes distinct and clear. It pierces through the heavy music and injures my ear with its high tone.

Concentrating has never been as trying as this- but it takes more than a disco hall and a cricket's song to knock me off intellectual balance. So I proceed writing my piece.

I seem to be entranced by the hustle and bustle of life these days. The manufacture of noise is becoming very predominant. Everyone seems to be speaking and none is listening. Everywhere, there is noise.

Picture this: a six year old wakes up each morning and looks for a metal tin. After getting one, he picks a stick and starts hitting it very strongly. The sound is pounding but he is all the while nodding his head in enjoyment.

Well, this maybe a bit of hyperbole but when I look around, this is exactly what I see. Noise, which is too harmful for our health, has become a lifestyle. I pray you do not take on the presumption of thinking I mean noise which is otherwise referred to as "disorganised sound".

Every time I scroll through t.v channels, I am always met with a show of more flesh than I would like. As if that is not enough,the accompanying words are embarrassing to say. More than that, these words and images publish numerous ideas and emotions in the minds of many. The ideas and emotions go on to create new routines and ways of life.

It becomes pertinent for the young 19 year old to look fleshy and sexy. The taxi driver is not reluctant to dish out an insult to the my car gentleman who responds too slowly to the traffic lights for his liking. The young man then decides he is not a man until he has tasted of the secret called sex.

Corruption, insincerity, strife, indecency become a new noise that stifles the quietness and simplicity of truth, honesty, courtesy and decency. Suddenly worms come out of people's mouths; free porn is offered in the dressing of stylish young ladies without remorse; violence becomes a pass-time.

Noise. I cannot breathe easy because someone's smoking, or worse; someone's mouth is pungent with a cocktail of alcohol odour. Noise; that lady's cleavage is half-exposed; this old man is telling a friend of a sexual encounter he had with the neighbour's wife.

Everything seems to be dying. And no one seems to care. Culture is rotting away, replaced by rationalism, open-mindedness, freedoms and rights. Can I say that gays should not marry? No! I would be politically incorrect, even if I am also being open minded. Noise. I can't hear the quiet beat of my heart.

The piece I began is ending; unfortunately the noise isn't. It seems there are two disco halls competing now. Or is it DJ's?

The cricket fell quiet a while ago. I cannot escape the noise, so I must find the peace in the Nazarene.

Hunger pangs and cows.

My tummy is a pot of boiling porridge. Silence is its taboo when I am very hungry.

Today I saw a cow at the post office. A well formed cow, on its way to its address box I suppose.

Who do you think had sent it a letter? Or perhaps it was on it's way to send one? I think if it had gone to receive one, it would be from a relative in China. This is what I think would be in the letter, and oh, the cow must have a cow-ish name so maybe Sameer.


Dear Sameer,

I hope you are well and lactating with ease. Here in China, the milk has gone poisonous. They are saying something about a woman called melanin. She seems to be the one who put the poison in the milk. And can you imagine where she put it? Babies' milk!

At least this time they will not decide to murder us all off like with the "disease".
Do you know, uncle Pequin and his entire family were killed? That was very sad for us.
But I hope you are fine.

I am sorry to tell you that your 7th distant cousins lost all their lives last month.
Do you know what killed them? Lightning! At least that's what they told us in the papers. I was shocked to see all of them, with their wives lying motionless on the ground.

I once saw a tree struck by lightning, and by God was it black! Nido, I am not very clever like you, but what kind of lighting doesn't make on black?...

I have to go now, I am making a scene. These people think it is strange for cows to send each other mail.

And then my brain goes back to wishing the lunch lady would come!!!

It wasn't me!!

The two men faced the crowd as if besieged by fierce horror! The crowds however remained exhilarated and shouted praises their praises.
"These men are gods", the crowd chanted while the "gods" broke into them almost shedding tears!

What had happened was simple: there was a man these two "gods" had found who was suffering from Bulbar polio. They deemed him as having the thing Christians call "faith" and told him to stand up! In no less than three seconds, this man was up jumping and rejoicing!! And then it was official, these two men were gods come in the likeness of men! In fact these men were given new names "Jupiter and Mercury the God men".

As if that was not enough, a privileged member of that town ordered oxen and bouquets to be brought so that a feast was thrown for these new super heroes.

However the din of the crowd could not drown out the voices of these two men, in fact this crowd needed a visual aid to get the point! They rend their clothes and shouted
"Homies, we're just men like you come to preach the word of God who made heaven and earth and sea and all that's in it. Back in the day He was easy with your downplaying him yet he always gave rain and seed and bread."

But that was not going to help at all. In fact some quick thinking PRs came and took advantage of the situation. With the excitement of the crowd, they easily made them look like criminals and soon our celebs were no longer basking in mistaken identity, "Mercury was annointed with stones and left for dead.

What kind of men could these have been? To shun public adoration for truth? Words of praise are like kind words: they taste like honey, sweet to the taste and good for your health yet these men did not want this sort of adoration!! Wow!

Would you do the same? Rend your clothes, deny you're just human and redirect the glory to God? Well Paul and Barnabas did and almost paid a huge price for it. But that was not among their fears. I think they were more concerned about ending up like a famed King Herod who was eaten up by worms for thinking he was actually a superhero! For them the glory was God's.

How many of our good citizens act likewise, claiming to be the best of the best, "slicker than your average" when it was God who put them there?

This simple adaptation of Acts 14:8-18 is just a reminder. When God does the big things and the small things and (okay He does everything for your good.) remember, you are not to blame, God is.

Rocking at the Temple of love

The opening acts have come and gone. The lights are blazing all colours.The speakers are buzzing with anticipation. The Rockstar is about to make an appearance. The crowds are screaming out his name, they are excited and cannot wait to lay their eyes on the Superstar.

The stage is amidst two pillars, and I dare you won't believe this, the pillars are made of gold! Consider an ounce of gold costs $895.40 per ounce, or to make it easier $28,788 per kilo. This superstar is extravagant!

Wait! The whole stage is actually golden! (A moment to breathe.) This is actually not a stage, it is a temple!! Rocking in a real temple, how better can rock concerts get?!

So, the crowd's energy keeps surging, they are ready to see the Superstar, the Rockstar!! Suddenly the huge fans on the sides of the stage go on and then a sight never seen before....the Rockstar descends from the heavens!!! Acclaimed Rock of ages and Bright Morning Star, the genuine article, the real Rockstar...

Sex is pizza (continued)

In a recent post when I said pre-marital/extra marital sex is like pizza, some were appalled. It seemed I had watered down what is a beautiful experience to a mere snack. Forgive me if I offended you.

However, think about it. The Godly view of sex is that it is something that happens exclusively between a man and a woman who are joined together for life in a marriage covenant. Sex is meant for the marriage bed, which is sanctified by God.

This kind of sex happens between husband and wife who are in essence one body. Sex makes them physically one through intercourse whereas their wedding is a spiritual joining. I cannot find a good comparison because it is perfect the way it is.

However, when sex is outside the frontiers of a marriage covenant it becomes a snack. Pizza is a good example. Let's say you go to Domino's and purchase a large size pizza. It is put safely in a box where its contents will be revealed when it is time to eat it.

So, a pizza is almost impossible to eat as a whole; it is better for it to be cut into pieces. You will also notice however that a pizza is rarely eaten alone; usually it is shared by a number of people.

Thus, when I look at the differences between sex before or outside marriage and pizza, I can hardly make a distinction! Whether it is the man or woman engaging in it, he or she loses a piece of themselves and the more partners, the more pieces of themselves they lose.

Unfortunately, the world has shunned the marriage bed. We have become too impatient and settle for snacks to satisfy the lust we have. Many of us are like pizza half eaten: Incomplete!

Gladly, God can change the filthy people we are into blameless sons and daughters. He is the perfect key to all locks. God's patience is like time itself:waiting as long as it takes; His love is like a house with a roof, even when it rains you remain dry. His grace is as available as the soil on the earth.

I am not perfect; maybe a part of me was lost; if not physically then mentally, but this God is amazing. He perfects that which concerns me. Even the lost He can find; the consumed He can replace. He still mends and repairs and causes us to hope for the light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, I am a man who erred but He was the one who saved.

Pizza or not. God perfects. I am purely a work of God. And so He avails new attitudes, beliefs and the grace to become ready for the marriage bed, not Domino's pizza.

Psa 138:8 Jehovah will perfect His work in me; Your mercy, O Jehovah, endures forever; do not forsake the work of Your own hands.

Jane and Jack- A story about misrepresentation

Jane loved Jack but the boy was too stupid to know. She walked slowly looking in his direction whenever she saw him. She intentionally dropped her books when he was near so he could pick them up for her, but the boy's mind seemed to be in vacation in Madagascar. He never noticed. She had tried writing him notes in class but somehow one of the classmates instead intercepted them and showed them to every one else but him and made her a laughing stock.

She had really tried. So she devised a plan to get his attention. She would write a letter and would tell her friend to give it to him. Sarah was her friend from Nursery and surely she would help her.

Jane's letter read:

Hi Jack,

This is Jane your classmate. Ever since I saw you, I was lost in your beauty. Your handsome eyes and rusty voice just drive me wild. I have tried to show you that my heart must be cured of this sickness and have attempted things a girl in love will attempt when she wants a boy's attention, but all in vain. So I decided to write you a letter and tell you that I am most incurably in love with you. You must do something Jack or I will be most unhappy.

Jane.

This would surely get his attention.

Sarah was supposed to take it before lunch but she would have lunch first. At the canteen, she unfortunately forgot it at the counter and Lita found it. Lita was Jack's neighbour who wanted Jack for himself, for no noble reason though. She thought she would hypnotise him and make him her toy. How cruel?!

So when she found it she was incensed that Jane too wanted him. So she made a plan. She would not keep the letter, no, it had to be delivered. But she wrote down her own letter on paper, and stuffed it into the envelope she had found Jane's letter in. She kept the one Jane had written. She then asked if anyone had lost an envelope and suddenly Sarah realised she had forgotten it! She quickly went to Lita and claimed the letter.

Sarah quickly took it to Jack and when Jack began to read it, he was dumbfounded!!

Hi Jack,

This is Jane your classmate. I see you, lost in my beauty. But I don't think you're handsome. Your eyes are rusty. Your voice just like a wild man. I have tried to show you that my heart must be cured of this silliness. I have tried to tell you I'm not in love but you always attempt to get my attention, but all in vain. So I decided to write you a letter and tell you that I know you're most incurably in love with me. You must do nothing Jack or I will be most unhappy.

Jane.

"What's this?" Jack asked Sarah.
"Well, Jane told me to deliver it to you"
"Who does she think she is saying such things to me? Tell her I have had enough, she thinks I do not notice how she tries to make me like her? Tell her I thought she was a good person but this...this makes me see who she really is!! I hate her!!!"

And the whole class heard! You can imagine how Jane felt when she entered the room hoping to see a good eye from Jack, but instead, she was met with laughter from her classmates (of course except Sarah) and jeers from Jack.

A girl could not possibly shoulder all that weight and not cry, so she rushed out and sat on the steps outside the class, as she gave way to her tears...

Solution, not explanation of problem...

Judges 6:13,14

And Gideon said "Pray, sir, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this befallen us?..."

And the LORD turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours, and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?"

The angel of the LORD had earlier told Gideon "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valour." Look what Gideon does to this declaration; he says, "If the LORD is with us, why...?"

The first thing he does is take focus off himself yet the LORD was putting the focus on him specifically. He tries to persist with his low esteem by trying to focus on the problem than what God had said. At times we are like Gideon; the LORD tells us how much He loves us and is ready to accomplish feats, then we respond by saying, " Ah, the LORD loves us all equally."

While the sun shines the same over the earth, it more powerful when it strikes through a magnifying glass; because there the rays are magnified onto one place and eventually, light up the surface it falls on.

Amazingly God did not give Gideon the answer he was looking for. Instead, He said "Go in this might of yours..." Which "might" might he be meaning? He was referring to His earlier statement, "The LORD is with you!" He went on to say, " Do not I send you?".

The LORD had a sure purpose for Gideon, and that is what His focus was. He had come to deliver Israel through Gideon. The LORD is more interested in your deliverance than your bondage. He will not waste time focusing on your bondage when what He wants is to set you free.

This is the story here- Gideon was focusing on the "why's" of their bondage to Midian but the LORD was not there to give a thesis on their current situation. He had come to take them out of it, and that is the only thing He had determined to do.



Praise God! For He forgets quickly and loves deeply. Didn't God have the right to condemn and rebuke them when Gideon asked his question? He did. But that time was past, He was intent on delivering them now!! Amen!

Thank God, for there is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ. Like Gideon's case, Jesus will never put focus on your past. Neither will He focus on your inconsistency, He has come for salvation, period! Not to give you a list of your failures that led to your predicament. No. He is a deliverer. He is your solution.

Therefore, whatever it is, God is with you and His mind is set on your deliverance, not your condemnation! Forget the condemning talk of "because you did this, this is happening to you-He is a now God-for you now.

John 3:17 "For God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him!"

So, in your addiction; folly; weakness; remember God wants you out, not to talk to you about why you're there. He's not here to explain your sin, He has come to take you out of it. Praise God; He is a deliverer, not a religious finger pointing condemning God. Let's not mix up the work of Jesus and the devil. The devil will remind you of your sin; your curse. The LORD reminds you, He became sin that you may become the righteousness of God in Christ; He became a curse that you may be blessed. Glory.

Avatar- the Nevonic version

Many people love Avatar. Those young cartoons who are supposed to save the world! Now people are in awe with their skills- water, fire, air, and earth bending. I decided to tweak them up in relation to guys and women. An avatar should be a master of all the elements, so even the man below should know all these skills so as to avoid "issues" with women.

Fire bending: resisting a girl when she wants to be more than a friend. This is a skill every avatar needs. What happens when a beautiful lady shows up and wants more than friendship when you are not into it. Man she is slap and you know, everyday it's becoming harder to resist! Either she does not share your spiritual beliefs, or you already have a girl or she has a guy; she is very appealing but you're not supposed to. This is what is called fire bending.

Water bending: resisting the urge to become emotional (cry) when she is seriously weeping in front of you. Ladies have this trick. When they want you to hold them or you know, be sweet to them, they may cry. And what do you do , how do you respond? A strong man must be able to water bend. Keep your tears in check, okay? Every avatar must be able to do this.

Earth bending: fleeing when she wants to take your shirt off for you!! This is one of the most useful skills the avatar needs. Some women, may get electric and want a piece of you. This could happen by mere conflagration of adrenaline, and desire or it could have built over time. When she successfully gets you alone, this is the lifesaver for you. Earth bending, run away. If she remains with your shirt, no problem.


Air bending: cutting a long conversation short when you know it is leading bad places. Ever been asked questions you do not want to be asked. You know they are necessary but your response will lead to all but a desired end? This is where you need air bending. Divert the conversation. Avoid the questions, talk about the weather. You will need this for your triumph as an avatar in a man's world of unwanted female relations!

So learn all these skills and you and women will be like yin and yang without ever meeting.

He is

More on Judges 6:12

Jdg 6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.

In every way, for us to be successful, healthy, wise, rich, victorious etc, for us to realise our full potential, that is, to fulfill God's destiny for us- we must know God precedes us. Before our successes, God is. Before our might, God is. Therefore, when the angel of the LORD spoke to Gideon, he first declared that God was then proclaimed Gideon's true identity- a might man of valour.

Many of us may not know God's plan, destiny for us. In fact, we may be beating out wheat in a wine press; hiding our treasures from the enemy without knowing what little that treasure is in comparison to God's plan for us. Here was Gideon in the wine press beating out wheat to hide it from the Midianites, yet God saw him as a mighty man who would oust the Midianites.

Even if this was so, it would never come to pass until Gideon understood that God was with Him. God precedes our true identity. So the angel said first that the LORD was with Gideon. Then he went on to tell Gideon who God saw him as. We must believe that God is so that we can see who we really are. The angel said " The LORD is with you, you might man of valour." not "You mighty man of valour, the LORD is with you." He must receive His glory before we receive our praise.

This verse used to get me very excited by the fact that God saw me (Gideon) as a mighty man of valour despite my weakness. Yet I discovered more in the verse. I discovered God is. Gideon would have continued beating wheat in the wine press if not God.

Thank God He is, for then I am.Since He is, I am the mighty man of valour.

Judges 6:12
And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valour."

It is one thing to be mighty and the LORD not being with you; and another thing to have the LORD with you when you're not mighty. The latter will always succeed over the former.

When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, the first thing He said was " the LORD is with you". He proclaimed God's presence in Gideon's life before even prophesying over him.

The presence of the LORD in our lives is so important because without Him, we can do nothing. More so, the knowledge of His presence in our lives. God can be an very-present help in time of need but it will produce more results if you actually know that He is. Ignorance of the fact can produce statements like " Why me Lord? Why I am going through this? Where are you?"

When we are aware of God's presence in our lives, sorting out the nitty gritty, we are bound to be more confident, have more hope and certainty in time of need. So here the angel first proclaims the LORD'S presence then goes on to tell Gideon who He is in the LORD'S eyes.

Jesus Christ is with us. Emmanuel. He is our very present help in time of need. We can look to Him when we are met with fear, sorrow and impossibilities. He is the bronze serpent. When we realise He is in our midst and focus on Him, while others die because of snake bites- the anxieties, problems of life, we live because we focus on Him. And by doing that He saves us.

So today, more than ever,the first thing you need to know, to realise, to be aware of, to be conscious about, is that the LORD is with you-you the individual. This should help you focus and overcome. You have Him all the time. And He is with you, in His fullness.

I find myself debating with myself and not knowing why there is a debate! Simple responses become liable to prolonged analysis like two lawyers before a judge arguing out a death or life case!

Is it that these many brain cells lack a more entertaining exercise perhaps because i have trained them poorly? Or is it a regular pass time they are fond of?

How come 1 plus 1 is not neccessarily two for me? Who is this other guy always arguing with me?

Am I not able to do the right thing? I know the right to do, it is written on my core yet this man keeps debating about it, haranguing and leading me to places i never ought to be in the first place!

Jesus....you know me.

So, there he was minding his own business when a vendor arrived with some good looking canvas shoes.

"Kale ssebo. Ndowoza nebwogenda." (Okay sir, I think u can continue on your way.)

"Toogule?!" (You won't buy?)

"Ate ow'a kasanvu asobola okwogelera wano?" (Isn't it impossible for a man with only 7,000/- to speak?)

Silence

"Kale sebo, leeta tugende." (Okay sir, pay and we part ways.)

Thus he went home with a brand new pair of canvas shoes.

Music Uganda

Hey people, it is Ntwatwa again on your shizzle. Naturally i like music, i like dem hard beatz that make my head bob like am an electric bell. Well, it's no secret this son of man cannot dance, cuz when i try i seem to be gentle with myself and well people say that is not dancing. So if i cannot dance, i can listen and play that music and well in the process critique some "music".

1. Blue3.
I am a gospel music fan but I notice the goings on of secular music. So I understand that Blu*3 is no longer written like that, rather it has become Blu3! What was the meaning of the exclusion of the * in the name? Does it mean that the star has gone and well it now plain 3 blu gals? See here, Cinderella (force the pun) is the lucky one whose shoe fell at the ball and some prince traced it to her. Now she is off to some Western country where she can have better recording etcetera. The sisters dare not remain 2 otherwise, it would have sounded too blue! ( Imagine blu*2?) Better to share misery in a group than in a company, after all, 2 is company, three is a crowd!
I must say I admire the honesty-no need for the star or is it asterisk? So the Blu gals are without their star, how do they foresee their future now? Let me wait and hear of their future lest I predict wrongly.



2.Juliana
From the radio "screen?" to the silver screen? Well congratulations. My brother happens to work in MTN and well there is a common song being requested by people who have just bought polyphonic tone phones. I think it is called Diana. She is quite the star these days, congs .However I must say I abhorred that she just sang a song about God. She did not sing for God. I saw an interview she did when making the interview and well, it was all about her life, her struggles, her achievements. I wonder was God your marketing gimmick? Or were you the oracle for many who treasure the song far more than i think you do?....this shall stop here.



3. Bobi Wine aka Ghetto President.
Typical political story. A man with a heart for his people struggles out of the situation they share and gets himself big. He shares their sentiments but unlike before is wealthier, has a beautiful wife and son, big car and house. He sings for the people, but how does he help them? I would like to know.I also do not appreciate the fact that his girlfriend is born again yet had his child before officially being married to him. He sings with a heart but where is the Soul?

Now, let me go and do more research about the others I had began writing about but found had little data about.
