Dedicated to Obama and other things

Tupac Shakur died early. Too early in fact. He missed seeing one of the few things he thought would never happen; things that his present day peers seem not too bothered about. Remember his song Changes? Well I pulled out a stanza to reminisce the day when the thought of a black president was futile.

I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

Bambi, things have changed.

I realise I live in an era where another golden piece of History has been written. I didn't see the black dreamer, and the white president who ended slavery in US but I have witnessed in my time, a black man become the President of the U S of A. I acknowledge leadership comes from God and so it is my turn to be responsible and pray for the leaders we have.

Onto other things, I got good news this morning. Gay marriage was defeated in California. That means there are some 180,000 same sex couples in the grey about their future. Read story here .

This is how people change mindsets- A constant bombardment of a message into people's faces. First the idea may seem absurd, silly, detestable; then slowly it becomes tolerable then acceptable. This is what many movements are using to spread their propaganda. Rock music did it, communism did it, now gays want to do it. I am glad California is revoking an earlier decision. Now only two states remain gay.

Why is it good news? Because God's righteousness is being upheld. We should stop treading on the middle lines, sitting on the fence. What is compromise? Is it not downplaying God's righteous law? Saying neither yea or nay?

Friends a word of wisdom. (Mat 5:37 MKJV) But let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes from evil.

Have a great day.

Also from Pac:

"Change? I guess change is good for y'all niggas. What ever it takes to get y'all niggas out the hood. Shit. I'm witcha. I ain't mad atcha. Do your thing, boy."

Then they sang I Ain't Mad Atcha.

As for Gay marriage and the law upholding God's Righteousness, I think that is too little. They should also make heterosexual fornication a felony punishable by law. And lust. Jesus said if you look at a woman and covet her in your heart, you are guilty of adultery. Lust should be punishable with jail terms. Also, profane language. Like saying shit. That should be illegal. And working on Sunday. The bible is clear on the Sabbath. We should not compromise on this.

And why do we still let heathens and pagans and other religions walk free? We as Christians must not tolerate those who don't believe as we do. The law must do something about Mosques and Synagogues and other temples. The Bible must guide the Law! God's righteousness must be upheld.

Amen? Right? You feel me? Who's with me?

Baz, first I am honoured. Naye man abt LGBTI; once this is sanctioned, who knows what won't be? Christ always forgave the sinner who was repentant. Humility. The sinner knew they were in the wrong and their hearts wanted change, like the prostitute who washed his feet with her tears. Homosexuals want their thing legalised man! We cannot look at homosexuality and turn a blind eye..?? I thought adultery was an offence..wait didn't they change that law?

We hope to influence people to change. We ask God to lead us. Just because the world has changed does not mean God has.

Eh...all for EB? Anyway, sin is a stench in God's eyes and He gave His son to be the remedy. Unfortunately many of us still reject that on grounds of liberality. No. Well, at least men know what to do. At least God left us His Word.

As long as we have it we are accountable to Him.

Robyn, I agree, let the dreamers dream on.

Emi, I feel you.

Nevender, Brother, Greater sins than homosexuality are already legal and widespread and perfectly acceptable in Uganda as well as the US. Unless you think worshiping idols, committing blasphemy, telling lies and heterosexual promiscuity, laws which The Lord took so seriously that he WROTE THEM DOWN HIMSELF, are not actually worse.

Nevender, this gay marriage thing is a red herring being used to distract people, and to manipulate religion. If we can trust God to deal with unrepentant straight sinners without the aid of man's governments, we should be appreciate that He is capable of exacting His will over gay sinners as well.

These guys are lying to you and they are lying to you in God's name. Don't listen to them. They used that nti "Pro-Life" tag to get Bush a second term? How pro-life is that guy? Before his election as president he had the distinction of having signed more death warrants than any other elected official in American history. 152! All life is sacred, no just some.

Nevender, doesn't the bible in fact say that we are all God's children? gay or straight? Does it not in fact even say that we are all created in God's likeness? So are you saying that He made a mistake in creating some people different from others? Thing is as Christians i think we are too quick to judge people that do not necessarily believe like we do. That is not our job! that is God's job. We should let him do it. As for rock music, communism etc, i do not even know what to say. this sounds like you have almost been brainwashed by religion. You live in new world, surely you can learn to embrace it as is, while you practice your ideals without spreading hate and intollerance?

Baz,Blogger doesn't have that function of editing comments. You can simply add another.

Lulu, let not your words be few when you can "change we can"!!

Baz, I understand what you're saying but it is absurd to say that since other sins have been legalised we just sit back and do nothing. The Church is God's authority in the world, we have a say. God works through people, words, and those words come from the people.

I am not saying I am in agreement with all of Bush's decision, but I am not even talking about him anymore.

I think if we can play a part in upholding God's law, let us do it. Let's not say God will deal with them. Many of us are Christians because of what somebody spoke. Somebody went ahead to cast fear aside and spoke and things changed. Like the famous line now; "Change We Can.".

I only agree with things I believe Jesus agrees with. And Jesus wants quality of life, and eternal life. That man there holds the key. Man is bound to make mistakes that's why we have Jesus, His grace, the Holy Spirit. We have a social responsibility, a moral responsibility to approve what is good.

Antipop, God would be schizophrenic to create gays and then tell them he hates their practice. Someone is lying and it is not God.

God ask us not to conform ourselves to the standards of this world, but to let Him transform us inwardly by a complete change of our mind. He says that then we will be able to know the will of God---what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. (Rom 12:2)

God bless all.
