February started with rain! What a blessing! The blessing is no different from the one of sunshine when you learn to look at things as Paul does
More so, the rain reminds me so much of God's grace (and the Adler). You see with the sun, people need not do anything to receive it; it just shines. Unlike the faith required for grace where you either stay and get wet, take out the pail and collect, with the sun it is is not so much like that. So I think of it often.
Friend, like the rain, the grace of God is limited edition . The stock will run out. God's grace depends on availability of life. Once one's life expires, you have missed all the promises, all the love, all the safety, all the comfort, all the goodness, all the riches of His grace. Grace can be so easy to miss because it is right there where you are. We procrastinate, become defensive, and all sorts of things just because we know the grace is available.
God's grace is not limited to your lifetime, after you go, after I go, it will be here but it is most relevant to you who are here, breathing. The rain is falling, take this chance! Come on get wet, take out the pail! Engage your faith!
To me the start of February is a reminder of His love and grace. He knows we need the rain and will ever supply it, even if it takes months. And there I was thinking, what do people in the deserts do? They go to oases, they irrigate. When the rain falls, they never take it for granted. They use every bit of it! And that's the way to go. Grace is here while you are here. Get wet.
As for the lovers, Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. There is no greater love than when one lays down his life for a friend. How are you laying down your life for the people you say you love?
